Techniques
- Dry-Dropper Rigs: Effective in the mornings and evenings when fish are rising.
- Nymphing: Use smaller nymphs with light fluorocarbon tippet (5x or 6x) during the midday when fish are holding deeper.
- Streamers: Woolly Buggers and Sculpin patterns can provoke aggressive strikes from larger trout during lower light conditions.
Tips
- Sight Fishing: Clear water allows for sight fishing opportunities; approach slowly and carefully.
- Weed Growth: With lower flows, expect some weed growth; be prepared to clean your flies regularly.
